SMEs and Researchers meet in Venice to boost innovation opportunities

42 Research and Technology Organisations, 29 SMEs and 4 clusters of companies from Central Europe will meet in Venice on January the 31st to set up innovative projects and ideas based on cutting edge technologies. KETGATE Project organises this matching event and assists companies.

The new frontier of European innovation involves KETs, key enabling technologies. They are a group of six technologies, which are drivers of innovation in all industrial sectors.
Nanotechnology, Micro- and Nanoelectronics, Photonics, Advanced Materials, Industrial Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies will upgrade European products, improve processes for regional innovation capacity, open new market opportunities and guarantee the future competitiveness of the European industry on a global scale.
Still, the right key enabling technologies provider can be located in another European country. The small or medium company can have problems in both finding it and speaking with it.
KETGATE is a European project that provides quick and easy access to a network of dozens of experts bringing innovative technological solutions for companies’ specific needs.
KETGATE points are spread and connected all over Central Europe. Thanks to this network, they help local SMEs to find and meet the right European Research and Technology Organisation. They speak the SME language so that the entrepreneur can easily access high-level technologies.
Next 31 January in Venice KETGATE project offers companies and key enabling technologies providers the unique possibility to meet and find valuable collaboration opportunities to exploit innovation potentialities.
The event foresees a matchmaking activity with pre-arranged b2b meetings, offering companies the opportunity to meet representatives of EU leading applied research organisations and technology enterprises. Research providers, moreover, will have the double chance to present their innovative technologies to SMEs’ representatives and to find synergetic collaborations with other research players active in the field of key enabling technologies.
The representatives of KETGATE Points will be present during all the matching event to offer advice to SMEs towards KET applications, and to facilitate the dialogue and the cooperation with the research and technology organisations.
